For a crash course in how cultural sentivity can go sadly wrong in global enterprises (and, being hugely mindful of the ambiguity, a moment of ‘black humour’), this post is hard to beat.

Would you choose social media or engaged employees?  Brains on Fire – another favourite blog – is passionately committed to word of mouth marketing and, by implication, social media. One of their team, posed that simple question on Twitter: this blog post comments on the replies, and how it seems some people struggle surprisingly hard to distinguish between their means and their ends.
